The Brazil captain has been sidelined since March and speculation is rife regarding the world’s most expensive player’s club future.
Neymar, 26, said after the Ligue 1 awards ceremony in Paris on Sunday that he finds the constant speculation over his future “annoying” but did not say that he will stay with PSG this summer.
Brazil legend Ronaldo told beIN SPORTS France that he does not know if Neymar is happy at PSG.
Speaking before he handed the Ligue 1 Player of the Season award to his compatriot, Ronaldo said it is uncertain whether Neymar would depart the club after just one year.
“Neymar has given France plenty, but also Ligue 1,” Ronaldo said. “Everybody speaks about PSG and Le Championnat all over the world. He is a very good player, and everybody talks about him.
“Was joining PSG a good decision? Neymar has been here for a year and he was unlucky with his injury. I do not know if he is happy here in Paris or not, but life goes on. We need to wait and see what happens.”
The Brazil star is believed to be a target for Real Madrid and Manchester United, but Unai Emery thinks he will remain in Paris
The outgoing PSG manager believes the Brazil star will remain with the Ligue 1 champions next season. Neymar is under contract until 2022.
“This season there have been times when everything related to Neymar was oversized,” he told Cadena SER.
“Neymar is not talking much. He told us he was tired of the lies that are told. I’m not going to be Neymar’s spokesperson, but I think the next season he is going to stay at PSG. It would be the right thing for the player and for the club.”
Brazil named he injured forward in their 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia.
Neymar had an operation on a fractured metatarsal in March and the Brazil team doctor said he would be out of action for three months.
Manchester City quartet Ederson, Danilo, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus are among the Premier League-based players named in the squad.
They are joined by Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino and Chelsea’s Willian. PSG right-back Dani Alves was last week ruled out because of a knee injury.
Brazil are in Group E with Costa Rica, Serbia and Switzerland, and play their first match on Sunday, 17 June.
